This is from a photo we took of our new little mini mancha buck Rumi when he was less that twenty four hours old. He bonded with us immediately and is still at six months the sweetest of goats. The painting itself turns out to be a great deal like many other paintings I've done that show someone nurturing an animal, weirdly similar to the way Madonnas hold babies in old paintings. They always have downcast eyes and are holding gently with both hands, and I have grouped all these painting together on one wall, including Madonnas. I don't find this in the slightest sacrilegious, much the contrary, I see it as nurturing love that extends to everything., and that I see my love of nature as just part of the bigger picture.
