Hunting around the yard looking for nature that spoke to me, and this one yelled "over here" A banana flower stalk just starting to peek out of the ruins of a frost damaged banana plant. I took a picture every day until she said "this one". I meditated that night and saw the whole painting completed (I got damn close) gold leaf and everything, swirly energy patterns, royal aspect, the whole thing. She spoke - in all caps - I AM, and I must say I was taken aback, having thought my interaction with nature spirits would be a little sweeter - this was just raw power. I'll continue the photo log as she bends down and makes way for the banana children and I will certainly miss her when she's gone. I'll have the portrait, though.
Mashes Sands is a bit of beach on the coast directly south of us. It's grown up now but this is from a photo some years back when we got up early enough to get the sunrise, and Bob took bunches of exquisite pictures. I knew at the time they were good, he's naturally talented at everything (damn his eyes) but when I unpacked them again recently they really spoke to me and I've been trying my hand at painting them. This one is 18x24, several other are 9x12, all have this gold painted frame that continues the landscape in some fashion. I'm really having a good time with this. Just bought a whole can of gold paint.
