That sounds odd, I guess, but at some point if you are serious about art and a girl, it will be pretty clear that no one considers your horse drawings as real art. It may be different in the world of western art, but I'm guessing most of the hot horse artists are men even there. This seems to be because it is a cliche that girls like to draw horses and pretty girls. Girls like pretty. This is not about sex, even though I have heard that, from men- so you need to consider the source. It is the big eyes and the lovely bodies, the beautiful way they move, the flowing mane and tail. My Little Pony makes a big deal of all the pretty points and little girls love them. Boys like cars, trucks, weapons, monsters, skulls... it doesn't mean they all harbor serial killer intent. I drew horses obsessively until I was about sixteen and somehow learned through the ether that it was not ok and dropped them flat. Fifty years later I remember I like to draw horses, and society is now helpless to prevent it. God how I love getting older.
This stuff has been around for years and I never paid any attention since I don't make or wear jewelry, and I thought that is what everyone was doing with it. NOT. While wasting time on youtube one of the suggestions was Celidonia Studio making a fairy face, and Daniela Messina manages to make it look easy. I couldn't even keep the clay clean! My little fairy face looked more like a troll, and I couldn't even begin to make the bodies, well, the body went ok but the hands were beyond me and they really need sweet little hands. So, going with the one thing I could do, funny older faces, I made a herd of trolls, with quartz crystals a dear friend sent me, sitting on little slices of an oak tree that fell in a recent hurricane. Want to try? Here's the link for Celidonia's youtube tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/user/CelidoniaStudio It's perfectly ok if you end up with trolls! |
